Higher Fire is a new community pottery studio in downtown San Jose, founded by owner and local potter, Dan Dermer.

Come relax among friends, meet new folks, share tips and techniques, and get creative with clay! Whether a beginner or old pro, you will love our fully-equipped ceramics studio in the heart of downtown San Jose!

Wheel-thrown pottery classes will be offered days & evenings to fit a variety of schedules, starting in Spring 2010!

Higher Fire will occupy a historic building along Market Street, just two blocks from the convention center and opera house, and right in the heart of the SoFA (South 1st Arts) district.

Higher Fire’s 4500 square foot studio will fit right into the awesome mix of cafes, restaurants, galleries, and performance venues along South 1st and Market streets.

The Hi-Fi Gallery will feature a wide variety of ceramic artwork and functional pottery made by both local potters and well-known ceramic artists from around the country.

Hi-Fi Members will not only have dedicated studio space in which to work, but will also have the opportunity to show and sell work on-site.  Higher Fire is looking forward to joining ranks with South First Fridays’ art-walks in downtown San Jose.
